ELA also known as Eddie Lee & Anointed has been nominated group of the year, named “entertainers of the year” and have been blessed with several top charting songs.
If you do not know them yet, they are a group worth looking into!

    With numerous testimonies like:
“because of your ministry my dad picks up your music and not the bottle.”
“…. I was in a concert of yours and I felt the hand of God and I walked out healed!”
Another person said” I walked in to your concert defeated and ready to take my life. I walked away from that concert free of depression and ready to live my life for Christ.”
And last but not least “My son, my daughter, my family,
gave their heart to the lord because of your ministry.”
It is evident that the hand of God is working in and through the ministry of ELA.

In 2003 God made it evident to even the group members of ELA nothing was going to stop the call he had on their lives. While traveling down the interstate their trailer filled with every thing they had accumulated over the years, was stolen. In the natural it seemed as if ELA would have to quit singing. But God had other plans, and he had put those plans in the heart of Eddie. Who when asked what ELA would do, said. “If we have to go to our singings in blue jeans and t-shirts, and sing accopella we are going to do the will of God. And that is just what they did.

Two weeks later God used a man and women from Florida who said “God told me to tell you to go and buy everything the devil stole from you and make it ten times better than what you had. So on went the ministry of   ELA.

When asked what style of music do you sing there reply is “Heart felt. Our songs come from the experiences of life. We sing songs that are real and give people hope, that kind of music from the oldest to the youngest will be felt.”

Eddie Lee, who left country music, is sensitive to the voice of God.  Not many know of how he walked away from a million dollar contract to go and sing for the Lord and not many would be able to sacrifice such. But we are sure glad he did! Eddie Lee has been used in many areas of ministry. Well known and loved for his unique voice and talented song writing, Eddie writes over 95% of the group’s songs.

His wife Marsha plays the piano and sings alto.  She is with out a doubt the “Vestal Goodman” of the group with a vocal that is an instrument in it’s self.

Marsha and Eddie have a beautiful daughter named Gabrielle. Gabrielle is nine years old, but when she opens her mouth…well you’ll just have to hear it to believe it.

Martin the “bass player” and baritone singer is Eddie Lee’s adopted son. Martin can be best described as a bass feign and the visionary of the group. His Ability to sing and play is a gift and a talent.  His wife Angela says,” Marty is farsighted he can’t see the clouds around him he only can see the rainbow coming.”

The perfect match for Martin came when Angela, became a part of the group. Not only for Martin, but also ELA as she became the soprano singer and minister of ELA.  It is said that what proceeds from the mouth comes from the heart. If this is true there’s no denying the love Angela has for her Lord.
Angela and Martin have two children who were both born “on the road.” Their daughter Ishriel who is four and their son Haven who is three. These two “Angels” are falling right behind there parents.

“The Drummer,” Jason (Angela’s brother), has been playing since he was eleven. His call into the ministry is a testimony in it’s self.  Eleven years old he prayed kneeling down at a pew. Eddie Lee was walking by him when God spoke. “Let him play. He is the drummer you’ve been looking for.” Eddie thought to himself “Lord he doesn’t even know our music.” But he walked over to Jason and said I want you to play drums for us tonight. With tears running down his face Jason said, “That’s just what I was praying about.”  That night he played with the anointing and he has been playing ever since.

The short blond and bubbly girl you’ll meet in the group is Anna, Martin’s biological sister. She sings lead and/or alto.  Anna is an instant friend to all, and never meets a stranger. With her lively and energetic vocals you’re sure to be blessed.   Her husband Barry is the bus driver and always lends a helping hand.  From setting up the equipment, repairs on the bus and anything else needed.   Barry is a great pair of hands to have around.

In short when you put this family based group together you get not just another gospel group but an experience! E.L.A.-Anointing is not just a name but a way of life.
